DO STAINLESS STEEL BOTTLES LEAVE A TASTE?
18/8 stainless-steel bottles do not affect the taste of the water, while aluminum bottles, which are more economical, sometimes have a metallic taste.
The 18/8 stainless-steel bottles are made so that they do not give any flavor to the beverages. However, we recommend always washing them thoroughly after each use and leaving them open to dry out completely, unless you use a bottle with self-cleaning technology.
1. How to clean a stainless steel water bottle?
Traditional method
First, we need a bottle cleaning brush. Usually, the bottle has a small mouth, which is convenient for drinking, but not so much for cleaning. Therefore, you need a long, slim brush with which you can easily access the inside of your bottle. This is the only way to clean both the bottom and the walls properly. In addition, of course, you will need dishwashing soap and water.
From time to time, you can do a more thorough cleaning, especially if you also use your bottle for coffee or tea. To do this, use baking soda and vinegar. When these two products come into contact, they produce a fizzy reaction that helps to remove stains from the interior.
Ideally, the stainless-steel bottle should be washed after each use with a non-abrasive brush, preferably made of plant fibers.
Can you wash stainless-steel bottles in the dishwasher?
It is not advisable to clean stainless-steel bottles in the dishwasher, especially if they are colored or have prints on them, as the high temperatures can damage the design.
